Albert N. Martin

Sermon Archive

April 11, 1934 – April 7, 2026

Albert N. Martin was an American Reformed Baptist minister whose faithful pastoral ministry spanned over four decades. He served as the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Montville, New Jersey from 1962 to 2008—a remarkable tenure of 46 years dedicated to expository preaching and shepherding the flock of God.

Born on April 11, 1934, Martin began street preaching before the age of 18 under the guidance of elders at a local Mission Hall. This early zeal for the Gospel would become the hallmark of his entire ministry. He was recognized not only as a powerful preacher, but as an evangelist, counselor, and devoted pastor.

A Ministry of the Word

Pastor Martin's preaching was characterized by its theological depth, pastoral warmth, and unwavering commitment to biblical fidelity. The renowned theologian John Murray described him as "one of the ablest and moving preachers I have ever heard."

"The goal of every sermon is not merely the transmission of information, but the transformation of the heart through the illumination of the Holy Spirit."

His ministry at Trinity Baptist Church produced thousands of recorded sermons covering virtually every book of the Bible and every major doctrine of the Christian faith. His verse-by-verse exposition of the Gospel of Mark alone spans 199 messages.

Pastoral Theology

For twenty years, Pastor Martin taught all courses in Pastoral Theology at Trinity Ministerial Academy, mentoring a generation of pastors who went on to serve churches around the world. These lectures, comprising over 105 sessions, were later made available in both audio and book form. His three-volume Pastoral Theology has been translated into Spanish and other languages.

Legacy

Pastor Martin was first married to Marilyn for 48 years until her death in 2004 after a six-year battle with cancer. He later married Dorothy, who predeceased him in 2020. Following his retirement from Trinity Baptist Church in June 2008, he relocated to Michigan.

He passed away on April 7, 2026, at the age of 91, just four days before his 92nd birthday. His legacy lives on through the thousands of sermons preserved in this archive, his published works, and the countless lives transformed by his faithful ministry of the Word of God.
