Family Worship with John G. Paton

The point: Read John G. Paton's autobiography as the book of the month.

Martin shares his family's experience reading John G. Paton's autobiography during family worship, noting how much his older children enjoyed it and how his son Garrison eagerly requests to continue reading, illustrating the book's captivating nature.

I wanted to just kind of put in a plug a little bit for this book that is the book of the month, the autobiography of John Payton, who was a missionary to the New Hebrides Islands, which was an island full of cannibals at the time, a pioneer missionary. We've read this book in our family worship in the past, and my older kids, one of their fondest memories of our family worship times, I think, is our reading of this book. We're actually reading it right now in family worship. And whenever I'm done and I stop to pray, my son Garrison says, No, no, don't stop, don't stop.
