Gray Hairs and the Cross
The point: Understand that unless God opens the mystery of the cross to your mind and heart, you will never be saved.
Hearing about Jesus' life and death without understanding the mystery of the cross is like growing old with gray hairs, but never being saved, emphasizing the necessity of divine revelation for salvation.
It is proper, therefore, to assert that if you are ever to be saved, you will be saved if God is pleased to open to your mind and heart the mystery of the cross. Unless God opens to your mind and heart the mystery of the cross, you will never be saved. Do you hear me, children? You can hear about Jesus living, dying, being buried and raised from the dead until gray hairs adorn your temples, but unless God is pleased to open up the mystery of the cross, you will never be saved.
