Driving home: Eternal life is a quality of life. And that quality is nothing less than a heart acquaintance with the one true and living God and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

The intimate knowledge a man has of his wife, involving interpenetration of mind, soul, will, and body, is used to illustrate the deep, personal 'knowing' of God that constitutes eternal life.

As a man knows his wife, and there is interpenetration of mind and soul, and will and body, and knowledge at the deepest level. This is life eternal. Not to have God paraded by us in the collection of notions and concepts that never touch and win and woo and capture the heart. This is life eternal.
